Five activists of the outfit were arrested from Unhel town early on Monday. Two SIMI activists were arrested on Sunday evening on charges of providing assistance to its former chief Safdar Nagori and 12 other top activists, who were nabbed last week, in a major crackdown against the outfit.

The driver of slain IIM professor Amrita Panchal was on Tuesday taken into custody by the Madhya Pradesh Police in connection with her murder. Anil Patel was questioned on Monday night for his alleged role in the murder and was taken into custody today morning, said the police. Panchal, 32, was killed on the night of December 17 at her official residence inside the high-security campus at Rau. She was attacked with sharp-edged weapons and was stabbed nearly a dozen times.
